Our Principal
Tammy Stevens Wilson has over 18 years of experience in banking, finance and community development has
provided community development consulting services to both national and international community
development organizations.
Currently, Ms. Wilson serves as Principal of Wilson Consulting Associates, a
multidisciplinary consulting firm providing community and economic development strategy and implementation
services. Ms. Wilson has successfully leveraged the U.S. Treasury Department’s Community Development
Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund programs, public and private sector investments and grants to realize over
$215 million in capital for her clients. She has served on a national panel of reviewers for the New Markets Tax
Credit program for the past four years. In August 2005, Ms. Wilson was awarded a five-year contract with the
CDFI Fund and certified as a reviewer for all CDFI Fund certification and capital programs, including the New
Markets Tax Credits program.
In her role as Senior Associate with a previous consulting firm, Ms. Wilson was charged with developing New
Markets Tax Credit and Bank Enterprise Award strategies and tactics for her clients in preparation for the
allocation processes. In this role, Ms. Wilson also served as lead project manager to develop strategic
marketing initiatives for Fannie Mae’s Multicultural Markets Division and to develop community development
product guidelines for GMAC.
As National Project Manager for Bank of America’s Community Development Division, Ms. Wilson managed
national community development policy issues and programs, including the (NationsBank) Bank of America
Native American Initiative. Ms. Wilson also managed Bank of America’s national Report to Communities
program, served as initial project lead for the division’s Balanced Scorecard performance measurement
initiative, and was named to various cross-company senior management teams charged with managing
merger-related community development integration projects. Ms. Wilson also served on the Bank’s charter
school work team, which was charged with the development of the Bank’s charter school guidelines, products
and policy positions. Prior to this role, Ms. Wilson was a Community Investment Coordinator in South Carolina.
Her accomplishments in this capacity included securing over $5 million in capital and soft investments for
affordable housing developments and both developing and managing the execution of community revitalization
strategies in partnership with local governments, bank executives and grassroots community organizations.
Ms. Wilson was also an instructor for the Bank of America Small Business Success curriculum designed to
assist small business owners with business and marketing planning, management and sustainability
concepts. She also has many years of experience in First Time Home Buyer Education curriculum delivery. Ms.
Wilson has both consumer and small business lending experience, as well as retail loan servicing expertise.
She recently completed a national certification course through the National Development Council for rental and
single-family real estate development.
As a former banker and community development executive, Ms. Wilson provides Community Reinvestment Act
(CRA)-related advisory services and develops performance context protocols for regional banks. Recently, Ms.
Wilson’s CRA engagement with First Citizens Bank resulted in the Bank’s achievement of an “Outstanding”
rating by the FDIC.
Ms. Wilson received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Economics and Spanish from Wofford College in
Spartanburg, South Carolina (1990) and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Winthrop
University in Rock Hill, South Carolina (2006). She also served as a contributing writer to the Fannie Mae-
commissioned study “Bridging the Gap: An Analysis of Impediments Affecting Minority- and Women-Owned
Lenders in the Secondary Market”, October 2001. Ms. Wilson is a board member of the Affordable Housing
Coalition of South Carolina, the York County Economic Development Board and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha
Sorority, Incorporated. Ms. Wilson was recently selected for Cambridge's 2008-2009 Who's Who Among
Executive and Professional Women distinction.
